Price Increase Notification

Welcome back!

The 3rd Thursday came early this month!  I can’t believe we are close to the year being half over.  I have much to share this month, so let’s begin!

I’ve been in business for just over three years now.  I have thoroughly enjoyed all the quilts I’ve been able to quilt.  The time has come, though, that I need to raise my prices.  The new prices will start on July 30th.

If you’re local and drop off at Sew Sew Studio, you must drop off your quilts by July 29th to get the old price.  Mail-in orders will need to be postmarked by the 29th.

The new price will be 2.3 cents a square inch.  For example…if you have a 70" x 80" quilt, the current price would be $112.00.  The new price will be $128.80.  So the difference is only $16.80.  My batting pricing will stay the same.  I anticipate Quilter’s Dream raising their prices at the end of the year, which means I will have to then as well.  I’ll keep you posted!

The good news is that pricing will stay the same for those of you who use my binding service.  I only charge 12 cents an inch! All you need to do is send the fabric for the binding.  I will make and attach both sides by machine.  When you get your quilt back, it’s ready to snuggle!

We have chickens!

As most of you know, I moved in March.  I’m pretty settled for the most part.  One thing that came with the house is chickens!  We thought, why not? We’ll try them.  They have been so much fun!  We have two roosters (woosters as my grandson calls them) and six hens.  We get 3 to 6 eggs a day.  I love watching them interact and hearing the little noises they use to communicate.

Guild Challenge Results

The local guild I’m a part of issues a challenge twice a year.  Sometimes I participate, and sometimes I don’t.  Part of it depends on whether I have time and whether I have an idea.  Well, this time, I had an idea!

The challenge was to use the Drunkard’s Path block.   I also like simple.  I had seen a couple of ideas that I could have adapted, but I ran across an idea on Pinterest and immediately knew that’s what I needed to do!  Very simple, but appropriate in my life right now.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Product Recommendation for you!

Prolong the life of your old rotary blades when you use the Bladesaver Thread Cutter!  This handy tool makes cutting apart chain-pieced units a breeze!  Each Bladesaver includes a magnetic case for holding the cutter so you can easily travel with it.  When you're ready to set up the cutter, the magnetic case then doubles as a blade stand.  You know I had to get the purple one!

Note:  The link below is an affiliate link which means when you use it and purchase an item on Amazon, I'll get a small commission *at no extra cost to you.*  It's a quick and easy way to help support my small business.

Website Updates

If you’ve been on my website lately, you’ll notice a few changes!   I have a “New Pantograph” section for my pantograph design gallery and have done a lot of updates to my t-shirt section.  Here is a new pantograph this month.  I’ve used this on a quilt that @cmariequilts will be releasing soon.  Isn’t it wonderful! I love it!  It’s a new favorite! Choose a contrasting thread and a solid back, and you can’t go wrong with this design!

Last, I’d like to talk about t-shirt quilts for a minute.

Do you make them or not?  There are a lot of quilters that don’t.  I get it.  There are certain things I don’t enjoy either.

So, when someone asks you to make a t-shirt quilt for them (because obviously, you do everything that requires a needle and thread) and you decline, please refer them to me!

I work with Hannah Whitehead of @midnightmothquilter, and we LOVE to make t-shirt quilts!

My t-shirt information is on my website so that you can refer them straight to the website.  I also have a gallery of previous projects, too!  It’s also fine to text me with questions.  My number is on the website as well.

Thank you for spending time with me while reading this newsletter.  Thank you for supporting my business!  I look forward to quilting for you soon.

Happy Stitching!
